Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul :-
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Gurukul was conceptualized as a project by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board in the year 2002, with the objective of providing to the society qualified and skilled professionals in the field of Sanskrit and Religion.
The Gurukul has been established at Charan Paduka about 1.50 Km. from Katra on the track leading to the Holy Shrine. It is built on a piece of land measuring about 30 Kanals and consists of Modern Classrooms, Student Hostel, Acharyas’ Residence, Dining Hall, Temple, Yagyashalla, Basketball Court, Indoor and Outdoor sporting facilities.
It has been established as a fully residential, totally free of cost institution to impart Vedic / Sanskrit education to the students by giving them lessons in Vedas, ‘Karam Kand’ and Puja rituals, and besides, in modern subjects like English, Maths, Science, Computer etc. The Gurukul also organizes regular free of cost workshops for the Pujaris of the Jammu region, with a view to sharpening their skills in the use of Sanskrit language and for improving their understanding of the rituals / religious practices
