Board's Achievements...
The Shrine of Mata Vaishno Devi is one of the most venerated
Shrines of India Since 1986 by an act of legislation, Shrine
Board has been entrusted with the task of management and
development of the Shrine. All the offerings and donations are
deposited into the board from which they are to spent on various
humanitarian and development schemes for devotees as well as
local inhabitants in and around Shrine
The Board has endeavored to provide best facilities
to the devotees which has resulted in a tremendous boost to
the religious tourism.
The former President of India Sh. A.P.J. Kalam conveyed his
appreciation to the Board on excellent Yatra arrangements
during his visit to the Shrine.
Shrine Board has taken up many ambitious
projects and other public utility works which are in different
stages of implementation. These includes operationlisation
of Sarswati Dham which has provided additional accommodation
to the yatries. Trikuta Bhawan, a 800 bed Dormitory in Katra to cater
to economy class yatries.
Traffic congestion at Bus stand has been eased by the Board
by constructing a 2.4 km circular road at Katra. X-Ray machines
and CCTV’s have been installed for smooth monitoring
and management of yatra.
From a facilitator of pilgrimage the Shrine Board has diversified
its activities to education and Socio economic development
of the region. In pursuance of its societal responsibilities
the Shrine Board has taken up the task of establishment of
a super specialty Cancer Hospital and Technical University. The Board is also undertaking the construction of Spiritual
Growth Centre, Shri Vidya Sanskrit Gurukul Shiksha Kendra
at Katra .
