Significance
of
Donation
...
Donations are an integral part of Religion. Since time
immemorial both the terms 'Donations' and 'Religion' have
been used together, so much so that they have become synonymous
to each other. The sentiment behind this is that if a person
cannot attend to religious rituals due to any reason, then
the donations offered by him convert all those acts as religious
by vitue of which he has earned that money. This definition
has become more meaningful in the present times. Being engrossed
in earning wealth has created scarcity of time to attend
religious rituals in the lives of humans. On the other hand,
lack of wise and knowledgeable scholars has also made religious
accomplishment a tougher task than before. In such a situation
a pilgrimage contentment and peace to a person the pursuit
of which brings him to Religion.
And what else can be a bigger fortune than to be of service
to the Great Goddess, the Mother of the Universe, by offering
something at Her Lotus Feet. The Mother Goddess has taken
an incarnation in the form of Mata Vaishno Devi in Kaliyug
(Age of darkness). Popular the world over as the Mother
who fulfills whatever Her children wish, Her great pilgrimage
is a memorable journey in itself.
On persistent demand by the devotees wishing to earn merit
by participating in the development of this Great pilgrimage
of the Divine Mother Vaishno Devi (also believed to Herself
call Her children and devotees), Shri Mata Vaishno Devi
Shrine Board ( a body constituted under 'The Jammu and Kashmir
Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Act, 1986', which manages
the Yatra to this Holy Pilgrimage) has drafted various schemes
related to this purpose.
